Perhaps gay marriage will pave the way to eliminating the gender bias in divorce judgements. That is, once enough gays get married, a shitload will in turn, end up getting divorced. Judges will end up having to look at the two halves of the couples objectively and not with a gender bias (favoring the woman) and then ultimately these unbiased judgements may trickle over to divorces of the straight marriages, the way it should be. OR, this may be a fucking joke, where married gays can just leave the state or go to a state where gay marriage is not acknowledged instead of divorcing. Can a gay then be charged and prosecuted for bigamy if they re-marry in another state later on, when gay marriages are more widely acknowledged? If one marries in a given state, do they have to be granted a divorce from that particular state or can any state divorce them? What kind of a cluster fuck will it be if not all states are on the same page on this issue?
