I'm running a fuel only EM-2 on a Volvo turbo and have plans to upgrade to spark control. The obstacle on my application is the crank trigger setup. I'm working on that, but I was wondering something. If I have a magnetic trigger in my distributor now, why is there a requirement for a magnetic crank sensor?

i was thinking the same thing,if the output signal of the pickup coil and the crank sensor match i beleive it should work for a e system only if you cut two of the four reluctors legs.the f system need the sync signal for tdc reference, even some vehicle have a tdc signal ,it should be in the same position in degrees as SDS.

Using the distibutor is a nightmare. It had built in advance to further confuse things. Signal has to be about 80 deg before tdc(which it isn't now) so needs to be modified etc, etc, etc, etc....problem after problem.

Don't even think about this idea.

I was also thinking about it as well. I have a bug and I don't really want to get into a crank trigger nightmare project.

WHAT IF you could LOCK out the DISTRIBUTER. Like the MSD billet distributer, wouldnt it be the same crank trigger and a locked out distributer???
