Nowadays bad news travels at light speed and we hear the horror stories of people who conduct business with the integrety of carpetbaggers.
I contacted SDS regarding a dead coil following a blown fuse which left me stranded last week. I wanted to diagnose and correct the cause of
the problem. I was fully prepared to buy a new coil thinking a 3 year old system would have no warranty. My enquiry was quickly anwered by
Barry, who after an exchange of information concluded that mine was one of a few coilpacks that have since been upgraded. SDS paid the
shipping charges and promised to turn it around quickly.
I sent it today and will keep you posted on the situation. I just wanted to let people know that old fashioned service is alive and well and that
anybody who buys an SDS system is assured of a great support network. When I bought my system I was as concerned about the service as I
was of its capability. Being new to EFI, I knew I would need a certain amount of "handholding" and wanted a system that was easy to tune
without a dyno or data acquisition system. While I appreciated the versatility and technical firepower of a Motec (which was out of my budget),
I knew that these blessings of tunability would also prove to be a curse to the ill equiped amateur. More selections can turn into more blind
alleys for the inexperienced.
As it turned out I was able to get the car running quicker than I expected and did not need to bother SDS. Great manual.
Thanks a lot guys.
