1:1 fuel pressure regulator, boost only or vac/boost?April 11 2008 at 7:33 PM No score for this post | MD (no login) from IP address 76.212.66.213 |
| - Just wondering the best way to do this, currently I have it running booct/vac so it drops to ~27psi for idle, also the vac is not stable till its warmed up. I'm running 75lb injectors so I would hope that keeping the FP higher would help idle.
So I believe that running a boost only source to the 1:1 fuel reg would be better, as in more FP at idle and less variation, so i would have 37psi in vac then 1:1 in boost. I'm not sure of how low on the fuel #'s I can go, as the way it sits now described above idle duty cycle is 2% and my fuel # is 78, I would assume that having many numbers lower to play with it should be able to handle it.
Yes I know that I will have to readjust my rpm fuel numbers and/or my Man Press values in vac

OH, maybe i just need a small restricter/orifice on the regulator, I have one on the map but not the reg. |

Hmm I just left it with vac...on my 1:1 FPR...strange I have 65lb. injectors and my fuel at idle is 66. I would think yours to be lower with bigger injectors |

well not sure what map numbers your using laodicea. It seems odd to me as well b/c my friend has basically the same setup w/ 72lb injectors and his idle numbers are lower also. He ended up sending me his whole map of numbers and I tried them and they are very close. On his he had the Map numbers bumped up a noticable amount from the 3bar stock map. I also think part of it was my engine temp fuel values were a little low, so thats fixed now but I have a slight vac leak around the TB that I need to fix also

so anyway I forgot to say that now my idle numbers are now 58, because my Map numbers are 6-8 numbers higher now, so who knows. This Guy is excelent at tuning these SDS box's so I'll take his info any day, especially since its a very similar setup. | |
