Of course, there is no "speaking" with the camera, it's just auto flash. I have two 682's (???), diffuser set, and the Strobo-eye which sits on the hot shoe. It allows a wider variation of f/stop settings than the flash alone.
Under normal shooting, like in rooms and large social gatherings, it works great. With digital, you can check the results, obviously and try again if not perfect. But I've never had to do it.
Wonderfully retro, an A2 and a sixties style oval headed flash.
The 682 uses six AA batteries instead of the much more common built-in or slide out tray of NiCad C cells.
