MN1k-computer emergency

Rich Buber and I had our computers stolen at the motel Thursday night. We want to borrow one or two laptops for Friday night through Saturday morning. All we need is a working laptop with Streets & Trips loaded. We'll be at Leo's Friday and can give it/them back Satuday morning at Leo's.

Other options welcome, like a desk top available near Leo's.

No requirement for Mapsource or GPSU, since we have another option that covers that. S&T is absolutely essential.

A gps for Rich would be kool too, since he also had his gps stolen. He has either a 2600 or 2700 series. GPS is not critical. I do have a gps in hand.

We are not Luddites, unless absolutely required. Snide comments won't be seen until after the rally is done. You'll have to deliver snide comments to me or Rich in person at Leo's during the MN1k.

Mike, we have a few computers at our house 5 miles from Leo's. You may both follow us home after the banquet if you wish to use them. We have Streets and Trips 2004, though - nothing newer.

I hope no critical information was lost in the theft - yowie!

I just talked to Mike and he wanted me to post that they have the GPS covered and have 1 laptop. He said if they could find one more laptop it would be great.

Status update

June 20 2008, 1:54 PM

Yes, we have one laptop computer lined up plus a gps. Only thing we need a whole lot is to borrow a copy of S&T to load in the computer. The computer we have available does not have S&T.

If someone brings a disk, we can load it and give you the disk back.

Many thanks for the help. If we can get a copy of S&T, looks like we don't have to be Luddites!

Leir Iron Stool Award

The Unofficial Inaugaral Leir Iron Stool Award for venerable conduct goes to me and all others that helped Team White Trash overcome the loss of their electronic routing aides.

(Wow! Thats two of us that you made broken promises too. No good deed goes unpunished.)

One of several high notes for me personally was to award the hard-fought Two-up Class trophy to Mike Senty and Jim Winterer. Eddie's worst nightmare was confirmed: stupid sidecar entry wins something.

Hats off to my people. Though, we still want to know what the significance of the "both left handed" really is.

Thanks a bunch

I gotta thank TS folks for the response to our computer problem. Bubba loaned us a computer, and Kerry Persons came up to the plate for us. We ended up using a computer from Aaron Petty, with S&T loaded and ready to go.

Thank goodness no one who loaned us the electronics was in two up, so technically we kept my promise. As a bonus to Aaron, he has a copy of the two up "winning route" on his laptop. It's "Fri B" I believe, Aaron...but seeing how you did in sport class, you don't need anything from us. Do note that the ever scheming J Winterer did make a couple modifications along the way.
