Due to some unfortunate paperwork confusion on my part, one rider was overlooked at the post-rally awards ceremony last Sunday. Paul "Hootis" Noskowiak earned his Bentdahl Award this year, riding his Buell Ulysses 1,412 miles, exceeding by six miles the amount he needed for the award. Congratulations Hootis!
Also, I had intended to mention, during the presentation of the Collins Award to John Coons, that not only did John earn this award in seven years (rather than the eight allowed), he accomplished this feat in the "modern" era - without use of the 36-hour option, nor the two hour penalty windows of yore. Tip of the cap to John! (and wag of my finger for introducing chelada to the TS family).
