Ling-Stuckey's New Ireland has gone backwards in development and he has always found excuses to protect himself and accuses young Byron Chan of infighting - what a joke!

The reality is that Ling-stuckey can not govern New Ireland and needs to be replaced.

There are good prospective persons to lead New Ireland from 2007 in likes of young Rabunaf Levi who never campaigned in 2002 and came in last out the six contestants. He has a track record in governance and is one of the persons well groomed in all aspects of governance.

Rabunaf Levi should get my choice if his contesting again in 2007 - I would like him to contest...find him and get him run the race. He is a very good developmental economist and acclaimed policy analyst in his own right - but a very humble person.

I believe Rabunaf Levi will be choice of the young generation New Irelanders from the age of 18 - 40 who will see someone who is like them, finished schooling in New Ireland and worked his way through Department of Finance's Planning and Budget Division before becoming the Policy Advisor to Madang Provincial Government from 1997-2002. He has done alot for Madang Province in terms of policies in investment and development.

But where is he now...I hear he is currently the Policy Advisor the Minister for Fisheries; no wonder fisheries has progressed well in the past years to now - well done Rabunaf...but please come home and contest the Provincial Seat in 2007, we are waiting and will be having you as our first choice.

For older generation that do not know Rabunaf, he is the nephew of Noel Levi (He should be Sir Noel Levi now), former PNG Foreign Affairs Minister and Member for Kavieng Open (1977-1982) and Provincial Member (1982-1987).

Blood speaks good leadership in Rabunaf Levi and bred well, intelligent but very humble in nature, has the patience to listen to simple peoples advices.

That is my first choice vote.

My second choice vote will go for an intending candidate, William Boas and the third choice to Noah Lurang.

Chan: Oro Kaiva is welcome to see developments in Namatanai

I�D like to respond to Oro Kaiva, a proclaimed true Namatanai, who I believe is now living in Port Moresby. It is really a shame to see a person of this calibre degrade a person who he does not know or care to know about and discuss his grievances with. Mr Kaiva seems to be politically biased in his judgment without understanding the facts. The fact of this issue are: n I was elected undisputed, privileged and honour which I do tell my people of Namatanai; n The roads throughout Namatanai District are worse off than Sir J�s times 20 years ago though the West Coast road, Lak/Kandas and outer islands roads system is directly the responsibility of the provincial government now lead by Ian Ling-Stuckey and Gerson Rabana. I, as member, don�t have direct access to funds to rebuild these roads and DRIP funds are insufficient to maintain them as well, as Namatanai District is probably the most difficult electorate to provide efficient services to all its population of coastal, islanders and inland highlands communities stretching over 250km north, south, east and west (land and sea boundary) having 12 distinct different ethnic groups and dialects; n My JDP and BPC presidents and council chairman provided all national departments our district projects proposal and submissions also endorsing those from Kavieng District which should get direct funding through the National Planning Department, as its all gone through the administrative and bureaucratic process awaiting government approvals and funding �Eall district roads including the west coast road of Namatanai are priority; n As to my representation in Parliament for the five years, well the fact is that I am in Parliament moreso than my Governor has been in the last five years. I�ve been fighting for my province�s share of the cake from the K4 billion National Budget and it�s all on Hansard. The Prime Minister and his Government fulfilled their commitment to paying outstanding support grants and appropriating K10 million for the next three years and another K9 million the year after; n The Namatanai people are suffering, that�s a fact but mainly through the ignorance of the Governor and political cronies, �saucepans and lamp bensine policy�Ewhich failed miserably to upgrade the living standards of ordinary people making them worse off, isolated, deprived of very essential basic health and education services, our people becoming beggars not producers or self-reliant, proud Namatanais as we once were; and n I�m of both Kavieng (Lamusmus) and Namatanai (Nokon) parentage and a quarter Chinese heritage which is not of my making but just as divine as Mr Kaiva, I am not only true Namatanai, true Kavieng but tru Niuailan and I invite him and associates to revisit my electorate to reassess the developments in progress before he attempts another �limp wristed�Escribble to distort facts. �EByron Chan MP Member for Namatanai

ive just stumbled on this website and have been disgusted by the language used by all the silly pipol that have contributed to the discussion point on a leader i have had the priveledge to witness at work in my home province of new ireland.firstly i am a proud namatanai and dont really care about politics but care about government.in all my years living on the west coast of namatanai, i have rarely seen our namatanai leaders like julius & byron chan, noah lurang etc.but i always witnessed ian ling-stuckey becos he conducted comunity awareness forums where he stood in front of huge crowds explaining the workings of his government.i admired him becos he always allowed us to question him including many of my relatives that did not vote for him.he never got upset like julius when people disagree with him.one time my own father shouted at ling becos he didnt get a banana boat but his younger brother recieved it instead.in all my years, i never witnessed julius chan develop our roads on the west coast, distribute cocoa dryers, build new classrooms and fund church buildings like ian ling.yet my family never supported ling.i found mr lingstuckey to be honest and very open and i am sad that he has been replaced but thats democracy.now that sir j is back, i know i will never see our MPs again on the west coast until the next elections.
