Exactly why we have legal ground to challenge and overthrow the Michigan wolf dog ban. Vagueness is the number one reason the bill is unconstitutional, but there are several other minor points that Mr. Tanick will address.
We are filing out lawsuit in federal court, along with an injunction to stop the law from taking affect until the courts can hear it. This affects Shambala in many different ways.
First and foremost, Tippi has been keeping a close eye on what is happening in Michigan. She said so herself to us and I believe she also made reference on a radio program.
Michigan is a test case. Other states have started wolf dog bans and are also watching. If we successfully over throw SB 705, how many legislators in other states and at the federal level will pay any attention to Shambala?
The key word here is 'if'. However, our attorney would not have taken this case and the risk of damaging a well respected reputation because he thought he could lose. While there are no guarantees, he has had experience (successful experience) in over throwing such legislation.
I can't stress this enough; throwing out the wolf dog ban affects EVERYONE, not just wolf dog owners. It is extremely important that we succeed and we need your help to do so.
We have already paid Mr. Tanick $5,000 and have a $6,400 bill due within the month. We have been fundraising like crazy but still need another $4,300.
