Response to Bomb's age?

The matter of ages, pairings, relationships, et.al. is highly dependant upon one's interpretation, and the performance witnessed. Sometimes, over the course of long runs such as Broadway and New London, the perceptions can change as performers change.

Typically, however, Bombalurina seems to act as an older and street-wise sister or friend. The reasoning I give for this conclusion is often based upon the characters and who portrays them.

For example, in the Video, Rosemarie is much taller than Avea (Linda), and seems to project a bit more "Expereienced" Queen as Bombalurina over Demeter.

When I saw UK Tour III in Edinburgh, Emma Tunmore was the same in relation to Barbara King.

In the US Tour V, I still get the impression that Bomba has just been "around" more...

BUT... (some of you knew that this was coming )
I enjoy the diversity... And I am sure there are some members of this Forum and others who can provide just as valid arguments against what I have said. That is the beauty about this musical... The characters and events are open to a ton of observations and interpretations. The very least we can do is just accept that we are going to disagree on some points...
