Sorry I know its a little late and I already posted it on Musicals.net but I thought it could hurt

So last night (5/11) I saw the CATS tour in Miami at the Jackie Gleason Center....let me first say, this cast is amazing! One of the best cast I've seen

Okay so on with the review:

We got there a little late so my boyfriend and I RAN into the theatre and found our seats which were in Row L in the orchestra (I LOVE BEING WITH CLEAR CHANNEL!!!!) Then the overture began and I was jumping up and down in my seat explaining to my CATS virgin of a boyfriend to look around and get ready for a surprise! And they did their usual running around in the dark with light up eyes hehe! Then jellicle songs for jellicle cats began...now I have to say I was a little bit apprehansive at the start (it happens a lot though) but when they got into the pyramid and began singing as a chior I was in complete shock! Their voices are beautiful together!

The rest of the song went on and then they got to the naming of cats and it was creepy...as it should be! they used the entire stage and even the audience so it gave a great effect!

The Invitation was beautiful of course and I was in aw by this girls flexibility. They only thing that dissapointed me was that Misto never sang except once at the end of the show so Munkus sang the invitation which worked anyhow.

The girl who played Jenny was sooooo cute! hehe She was VERY tiny compared to the rest of the cast. The tap didn't look incredibly hard but I must say that they were all together which was impressive all in it's own. The cocroach costumes looked really cute and some of them really played it off.

"Rum Tum Tugger was a terrible bore"....eh....The guy who played him was really nice and he wasn't a bad performer inthe least...in fact he was VERY entertaining, but I didn't enjoy the characterization that he gave the lover cat I thought he sould have a little bit more of a sentinmental side. But it was still good. Also, I think he was changing it up a bit b/c he has the opportunity but instead of dancing with someone in the audience he decided to sit in 3 empty seats in the front row and just chill for a little bit..a lil dissapointing

Grizabella...demeter had a beautiful voice, a little on the popish side but she made it work and I enjoyed it.

Bustopher Jones: when he came out the entire crowd was laughing which is a good sign. He was cute and lovable and very round The kittens were by far my fav part of the number though.

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer: By FAR THE BEST #!! hehe Mungo and Rumple were the best and most animated characters of the evening and they get my 2 thumbs up! They had some added harmonies to the song which intrigued me and I really enjoyed it! It was entertaining and they pulled off the double cartwheel with ease! Mungojerrie (Mario) was one of the sweetest toms! EKK!

Old Duet was beautiful as usual but I think Tugger's mic went out when they started singing together...BTW Munk's voice was beautiful...the guy who played him...even more beautiful! lol

They skipped Pekes and the Pollicles le sigh! it would have been great but their transition worked well anyhow!

but right after that they started the Jellicle Ball which was amazing! I found it strange though, Tugger didn't dance really...like he started his little part but when it began to get a little bit more difficult he dropped out.

and then intermission....my boyfriend and I decided we needed closer seats so we went up to the front of the theatre to look at the stage and sat in the 3 empty seats in the front row that tugger sat it! It was amazing! Intermission ended when everyone began coming out of the woodworks and we ended up having a staredown contest with Mungo and Rumple! It was so much fun! we ended up playing games with them most of the time! During Moments of Hppieness they were sooooo cute Mario (Mungo) would be bitting on Rumple shoulder patches and they would just play around

Gus was good nough said...now Growltiger was great! I was so excited about it! they could have used a bit more facial but it was good besides that The only thing I missed is the siamese costumes lighting up!

Skimbleshanks was exactly like the video!!!!! I was soooooo excited!!! hehe! it was great and I loved it He was an incredible singer and very nice

Macavity: great dancer I enjoyed it alot...then the song was AMAZING...Alonzo was a great shadow and the combo of the 2 girls was chilling ...I think Bomba could have been a bit more sexy though.

Mistoffelees was soo cute! he was a great dancer and I was very impressed! 24 spins!! whoohoo! we definetly counted out way too loud Cassandra was really funny when she was in the "act" it was like helpless pleas of "no no! please! not me!...well okay!" it was funny

Memory: BEAUTIFUL! the woman who played Griz has one of the most beautiful voices ever! It was definetly one of the best renditions of Memory that I've heard and it even brought me to tears!

Journey to the Heaviside layer was memorable...their voices were wonderful and soothing and when the tire started moving the whole crowd just went "AWWW" it was really funny

and finally the Ad-dressing of Cats the finally Old Duet has a fantastic voice as well and I thuroughly enjoyed it!

At the bows the whole cast came out into the audience and played with people and our honorary tom was Mungo (Mario)!!! it was so much fun he played with my boyfriend and me and grabbed our playbills right from under my butt!! hehe it was really funny so I chased him around for a bit and he finally gave them back..he was so cute and by far my favorite and the bows went as usual ending with Bomba stepping over Tugger and Tugger giving a huge "Oh YEAH!" and running off! lol

Afterward my boyfriend and I made it to the stage door and I got most of the cast to sign my playbill!! they were all soooo nice and after one signed they pretty much got into a line to sign it

2nd Night (5/14):
oooooo! just got back from night numero dos of CATS in Miami! It was amazing!!! we sat 2nd row for the first half (sneaky sneaky!) and I got to dance with Tugger! I also got the flower from Bustopher!! hehe it was amazing!

They got the flashpots to work for tonight for Misto thank god! it made such a difference! and everything else just ran smoothly...although, the girl playing bomba couldn't go on into the 2nd Act! I wish I could find out what happend I hope she's okay! Everyone seemed a little out of breath but it made them try even harder to please the audience! Again, my kodos to Mario (Mungo) for being an excellent character! I love him!

okay that's it I went closing night as well which was histerical and we ended up bringing the entire cast and crew cookies to help them with their energy and it was soooo much fun! a lot of attention from the cast
