VictoriaTWC.....my new hero
You will NEVER have even a glimmer of a clue of what our very own VictoriaTWC/Christine has been doing since just after Christmas and especially the past 2 weeks.....all in preparation for tonight's Sarasota dinner theater show.
The Playbill's mention of her name is nice......but there is more.....far more to THIS story.
It begins with a passion for CATS.....and a passion for costuming.....and a passion for perfection, settling for nothing short of it, too.
She has labored, toiled and sweat to make tonight's costumes absolutely PERFECT....the results being on par with ANY Broadway or West End production of CATS, I've ever seen!!
Why? Certainly not for money......she has given of her time, with travel, food, lodging and expenses.....all for free! That's right, folks....she has volunteered her MONUMENTAL EFFORTS!!! Yarn, cloth, sewing materials, paints and dyes have been hers.....her expense. Design, improvision, trouble-shooting......all done GRATIS.
Why? Certainly not for recognition......she is refreshingly humble and unassuming. She doesn't look for 'thank-yous' and brushes aside compliments.
Why? Certainly not for 'CATS Community' status. She couldn't care less. She is an equal....to anyone here.....anyone on stage.....anyone behind the scenes.
Why? Certainly not for capturing another CATS trophy/costume/item/video/memorabilia/etc. Some of you may think that, given her bent towards collecting.....but you'd be wrong.
So why?
Well, the answer is simple.
She wants to do a good thing.
And OMG.....she has done it!
Christine is now my new hero. Doing a good thing is under-rated. This is what our VictoriaTWC is all about.
Christine.....I loved meeting you tonight.....seeing a bit behind-the-scenes and having you sit with me, front and center. You should go home tomorrow feeling accomplished. Remember.....let everything else roll off your back like water on duck. It's all small stuff, anyway. Just THINK of what you've done here!!
