Problems?

March 25 2005, 3:55 PM

I can access the site - and maneuver to the various Forums, but I have noticed that no one has posted today (Friday)... I have noticed that www.macavity.org was hit with a virus or trojan horse this morning... I think Carbie is repairing it. Other than that...

Just out of curiousity, which 'theme' or look do you have on those forums? The default?

Ah, yes...

March 26 2005, 12:07 AM

I can look - but I cannot access the profile (so I do not know the theme I use (blue & white screen?), and I cannot logon or reply... I get a critical error...

Thanks for looking into the problem...

Clear your cookies.....

March 26 2005, 12:30 PM

To be able to view Musicals.net, you'll have to delete your cookies. But don't log back in or else you'll get the error again. The only solutions right now are to either reregister under a new name and don't fiddle with the 'theme' that you use. Or, wait until Sally can fix the problem. She's been notified of the problem, and (hopefully) how to fix it.

Yup

Isn't the "critical error" message it's giving now the same one it gave when the forum crashed in the old format?

From what I can gather, I believe the error is linked to what theme you use. There are some people who can access the forums. Others can't. Those who can, I think, use the subsilver theme. Those who can't use the phpbb2 theme. I know that Carbucketty has emailed Sally to get it fixed hopefully.

Still no luck

March 26 2005, 3:35 PM

I've deleted my cookies and still nothing. At first I coudn't get it to work, then I could so I tried to log in and haven't had any luck since. And that was yesterday.

I'm glad to know that it's not just my computer but about how long do you think it will last?

Thank you,
Tigress

Try clearing your cookies again, but don't log in. I'm not sure how long it will last. Sally has been notified so it's just a waiting game for now.

March 26 2005, 7:00 PM

You-know-who (the really "brave one"?) planted a virus or trojan in M.N because they are in a snit - because you are more popular and well-liked...

You would know this one then... However, for the sake of the anonymous person, I will keep the name off this fine Forum... I do not wish to invoke the "Theatre Gods" to come upon us... Do not worry, KID... I do not think You-Know-Who even knows about this Forum...

Oh, he knows about this forum....but he doesn't bother coming here because fairly early on in this board's life I laid down the rules to him and tolerated none of his ...snarkiness....and such.

Oddly enough that was one of the points I got into a .. discussion.. about.

March 27 2005, 9:52 PM

Not only did it occur at this precise moment, but it happens that Troll-who-shall-not-be-named had his own forum attacked in the exact same manner 2 weeks ago. Amazing coincidence that he was total aware of the issue (which hit a multitude sites but not MN at that time) and then just after the latest banning if finally get around to hitting there.

Not that I accuse him of doing it, I stated as much there.. not likely capable of it. Just a weird coincidence.

The Plot Thickens...

March 27 2005, 11:52 PM

So my little joke may have some truth to it? I noticed that there was a blurb in Misc... TWSNBN is a good abbrev for "IT" - I was about to call IT "Draco" because of the personality and the cronies...

Situation has been resolved. (relatively speaking)

March 27 2005, 9:58 PM

Everyone should be able to get back in now, but unfortunately the only available style is some mutant version of SubSilver that is set way to wide for most people to see without having to scroll left and right.

and there is still that who TWSNBN issue. We can only hope for so much at one time though.

Stupid people

April 5 2005, 12:19 AM

My biggest problem with musicals.net is the incredibly lousy grade the people there have given Cats!!
