Hi fellow CATS friends!

Im so glad to see that the memory of CATS still LIVES!!!! It was such a special part of my life and its great to see that people still enjoy it so much!

I am writing for two reasons. First, I want to update you all on the production of CATS that I am currently working on at the GREATER HARTFORD ACADEMY OF THE ARTS in Connecticut. I can't begin to tell you how FANTASTIC these kids are! I am on the faculty at the school and we have been selected by the Rogers and Hammerstein Organization to be the first high school in the United States to perform the show. I have recreated the original choreography, the set is dynamic, the wigs are great, the cast is superb (very difficult to grasp that they are high school students). I truly hope that if anyone is in the CT area you will try and see this production. It is not to be missed!

Secondly, I am writing to see if anyone out there would be willing to help me with a few costumes for my show. We rented the costumes from a major costume company. I am THRILLED with what we have received (definitely looks like the "real thing") but after watching our first TECH/DRESS rehearsal today I strongly feel that I need a more authentic look for the characters of CASSANDRA, CORICOPAT and TANTOMILE. I know that many of you out there have(or know people who have) BWAY or NATIONAL TOUR unitards in your possession and am hoping that someone would be willing to make them available to me for the next two weeks. Our final dress rehearsal is this WED (5/11) and our first performance is THURS so I would need them ASAP. I am also looking for a few sets of arm/leg warmers (primarily MISTO and MUNK).

My students have worked so hard for many months to keep the integrity of the show in place I would hate to send a few of those characters out there looking like anything less than the REAL THING!

If anyone would be willing to help with these costumes (or know of anyone) please email me ASAP at CoricoBWAY@aol.com and we can discuss it in detail.

I would so greatly appreciate it, my students would greatly appreciate it and I can assure you that the costumes would come to life in a production that is so filled with the spirit of what the original show was all about!

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I look forward to hearing from you VERY SOON!!!!!!!

All the best,

Billy Johnstone

Hey, great to hear from you. Unfortunately I'm not the costuming type otherwise I'd help you out in a heartbeat but I wanted to say "BREAK A LEG!" with the show. Again unfortuneatly I'm not in the CT area But is there any chance you could send pics? I would absolutely LOVE to see some of the production!

You're Great!

Etcy
