a new book, in hardbound curently. Published by Knopf, written by a first time author named Audrey Niffenegger.

I'm a time travel story buff, so the title grabbed me and I bought it. This aint no ordinary time travel book though, fundamentally, its the single best love story I've ever read. That doesn't say a lot as I don't read any romance literature. However I know good writing and this lady has it in her blood.

It is sincerely one of the best books I've ever read. The time travel is both integral to, and incidental to the story. It lends the romantic angle an emotional levity. The story is basically this. Henry (our hero) has a genetic disorder that causes him to randomly displace himself in time at various points in his life. The entire book is written in the first person of whoevers viewpoint the scenes are being lived by and its compelling. You get scenes with Henry visiting his wife as a ten year old. Scenes with Henry visiting himself etc....

Its an extremely different take on the genre and skillfully scripted into this love story. Its not The Lovely Bones but in its own way, its every bit as special.
