I saw "Good Night, and Good Luck." I thought it was excellent. Loved the acting, directing, the choice of black-and-white to match the time period. The ubiquitous smoking. A lesson for our day regarding government-induced fear and intimidation. Can you say "Deja Vu all over again"?
Saw "Capote" -- Phillip Seymore Hoffman is fantastic. Although you don't wind up liking Capote in the end. While I knew Truman and Harper Lee ("To Kill a Mocking Bird") were childhood friends and neighbors in Mississippi or Alabama or where ever -- I didn't know she went with him as a research assistant to Kansas to investigate the Clutter murders for writing "In Cold Blood."
Saw "TransAmerica" -- I didn't really care for it that much. She discovers she has a son, 17, who is living as a hustler on the streets of NYC. Also making porn films. Later, he's makes a porn film in California. Never once does she inquire about his health, being tested, or even suggest that if he's going to do it to at least be "safer."
Saw "Brokeback Mountain." Loved it! Can you do a "double snap!"
