Robin and I went to see Brokeback Mountain last weekend when we were in Appleton. It has not played here yet, even though it is up for an Academy Award. Go figure! Anyway, we both thought it was a little slow. Other than that I am not sure how I felt about it. I was glad I went to see it. I thought they accurately portrayed the internal struggles. It made me cry. I could not watch the scene where the one man got beat to death even though I am told it wasn't that bad. I felt really bad for the women who were married to these men. It shouldn't happen. Too many people get hurt because we are not allowed to even entertain the possibility that we are who we are. Ok, I am doing my life now and not the movie. It is worth going to see.

Just in case someone hasn't seen the movie.

Spoilers are fine, but make sure there is a warning in the subject line so people don't read it that haven't seen the movie yet.

but, in the short story, we don't know if Jack was murdered or not. We only know that Ennis' fear made him believe the worst.
