ok, this book is amazing because this woman is amazing. the STRENGTH she has is ... is...moving. i haven't been able to put it down and gave myself a headache from reading for 4 hours on sunday. (i might need glasses)

anyways, the point is, i can be bitter all i want about being raised a dubby but the fact remains, i coulda been born a muslim...there's my gratitude for the day.

p.s. the part of her book (true story) where she is describing how she was circumcised around the age of 5 and her sister & brother were too on the same day by her B*tch of a grandmother while her parents were away had me bawling my eyes out. crying for her, crying for women, crying for the insanity that is this world somedays. *sigh* and then i cried harder with the realization that these crimes are happening every single day. when will we evolve to a higher state already!!?

this book is powerful for my humble reasons: 1. courageous amazing woman 2. triumph over insane adversity 3. triumph over extremist religionists 4. she fights for what she belives in

who wouldn't want to be like this lady?

Most of the books I read are while enjoying my glorious occupation as house cleaner. I loved this book and had the same thought of gratitude...what do I possibly have to complain about? Same thought occured while reading Carolyn Jessop's book of her escape from the FLDS.

I read another Muslim woman's account some time ago and can't recall the title, I think it might have been "Inside the kingdom". I think she was sister-in-law to Hussein?
