Meningitis--spinal fluid and seizures.

I'm writing a story that has nothing to do with the characters on E!. Back in 1974, I was sick with spinal meningitis, and was hospitalized. Fortunately, it was caught in time. I got well, but in my story,
I'm writing where I have excess cerebral spinal fluid on the brain, and I go into convulsions. Is that possible? Can excess cerebralspinal fluid do that to a person with spinal meningitis?
