I think you're right on that Chris. Don't remember for sure. I'll have to watch a few episodes on TV-Land again to see if they talk about it. One of my radio-buff friends informs me the brand and model was a Motorola Apcor, and they transmitted on what's called the UHF MED frequencies in the 467 MHz range. He says they weren't very dependable as radios go, but they were "one of the few radios of the time that you could send telemetry on for EKG's etc."
Cool! But do you believe I live in an area so rural that this 1970's technology has not arrived yet? Maybe they think they can't afford it or don't need it. Maybe somebody could enlighten me -- how common/necessary are these things?
