CPR

by

This is a question about CPR.. I know I'm quailified in the medical field in giving this, but wonder if there is guidelines when a person wouldn't give it. My boss came on a scene where the person was purple , stiff and bloated and decided to call 911 and CPR wan't given and now I'm in trouble just beacuse I was working that day and I didn't give it.
Thanks

Re: CPR

by Aaron Hadley

Not being an attorney, I can't tell you what all the legal issues are, but as an EMS instructor we teach the doctrine of "Duty to Act". This means that if you have a duty to respond to emergencies as a part of your job, then you must respond while you are working. There generally is no duty to act when off duty. If you choose to act when you don't have the duty to, then you provide care to the best of your ability and training level until relieved by someone of equal or higher training, just as you would while on duty. It seems the question hinges on whether or not you workplace policy mandates that you respond to emergencies while at work. I would definitely seek the advice of an attorney that is familiar with the laws on this issue in your area. Best of luck--I hope everything works out for you.

GAGE & DESOTO cameos on theatre screens

by

Hey There,
Fellow "EMERGENCY!" fans! I've just completed my rough draft for a comedy film, which is to be entitled:
"JAMES DEAN VS. NICK RUSSO", & I plan to somehow figure out a plan to cast (in a cameo appearance) both RANDY MANTOOTH & KEVIN TIGHE as both GAGE & DESOTO. However, I'll keep their screen time down to a fairly good mininum
because this film is a comedy from start to finish.
I myself shall portray JAMES DEAN, and I've cast TED WASS back into his original role of NICK RUSSO from the
(1991-95) tv sitcom "BLOSSOM". They first appear on the screen as they race to the RUSSO residence while driving to the rhythm of ABBA'S "TAKE A CHANCE ON ME", & then as they head to RAMPART HOSPITAL the audience in the theatre will hear BILL CONTI'S recording of the theme from "ROCKY"
against the back drop of the scenery itself!? Now there may be some follow-ups, or sequals, which MANTOOTH & TIGHE
may, or may not possibly appear in, but the titles of those possible sequals are as follows, & I quote:
"DEL SHANNON'S KEEP SEARCHING" & "STRANGER IN TOWN", with those two DEL SHANNON songs for the opening credits (one for each film). Filming to start sometime nextyear most likely, but further details shall follow later.
RESPECTFULLY YOURS.

E! story medical question.

by

Hi, I'm writing an 'Emergency!' story about a man who has amnesia(sp) as a result of a MVA. What would the course of action be when he got to the hospital? What would the EEG results be? What other tests/treatments would they perform? And finally, what would they do to help him regain his memory? Thank you.
