Here can you discuss about the Sports- and Shoot'em Up Games to Commodore 64.
European Super League Football Fortunes II
by Tarful
Anybody know if there were any differences between this version and the original brian cloughs?, I know the website says that the rules are the same but on running the program, you are able to enter upto 6 for GK, 24 for DF and 18 for MD and AT, where there 6 skill players included or could you change formation from 4-3-3 - also temp ratings have been added????
also does anybody know of the trophy cards that were included in the new versions?
I've found an old mail from the programmer himself and he had the following to say about this game.
I programmed Football Fortunes II - European Super League.
Basically the board game part is the same as Brian Clough's Football Fortunes except the computer program has been updated considerably to allow each game to last much longer if required. There were a number of additions including 5 leagues instead of 1, etc, etc, etc, all of which served to make an already incredible game a little bit better.
The original game with one league meant that after about 2 seasons of play, the opposing teams became so hard to defeat that the game became
unplayable. This meant that you got about 1.5 hours of fun before having to quit the game. The updated version with the multiple leagues meant that you could have all night sessions (and we frequently did) without the game becoming unplayable.
Obviously there were a number of other improvements too, but the
introduction of multiple leagues was the main improvement that increased
the playability of the game.
Has anybody tried to use this disk to alter or modify stats? Every time I get to the placekickers category and try to modify stats the c64 hard locks or the emulator crashes with a CPU JAM debug monitor screen. Has anyone else successfully got past this step in updating stats and if so, are you using a downloaded .d64 file or your own disk? thanks, Gary
I can help as I run all the Microleague baseball games and add ons on my c64 and c64 emulator. What exactly, is the problem you are having trying to load the game? Gary
HOW CAN I PRINT MY STATS? WHEN I SELECT THE PRINT COMMAND IT APPEARS THAT THE EMULATOR IS PROCESSING SOMETHING BUT IT NEVER IS SENT TO MY PRINTER. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.
That's because your emulator is trying to send the stats to an actual commodore serial bus printer. The only way I could get the stats to print was to configure the emulator to send the printouts to an ascii file instead of an actual commodore printer. Then obviously, you can send the text file to your printer. Gary
It says that I have to press the fire key to start the game, but I can't find it, and I can't find the controls online. Could somebody help me with this issue?
I have an autographed copy of John Elway's Quarterback Nintendo Video Game --complete set -- the original box (which he signed personally with a felt pen), the game, game sleeve and instruction manual in excellent condition (never played). Does anyone know what its value might be? I can't seem to find anyone who has an autographed copy. Thanks.
I remember playin the double on the C64 & leaving it on over nite cause @ the time i didnt have any tapes to save the game! those were the days. The 1st time i won the doble was with Aston villa & having loads of money in the bank & makin the capacity of the ground up to 60,000 still play it sometime on my pc but the odd time it does crash! if your in the 3rd division best team is derby & one player to get is stainrod from leicester scores shed loads!
Have always wondered if its possible to edit the game & put todays teams & players in the game.If anyone knows how to do that or has ideas then that would be great
I've been playing my old childhood favourite, striker with VICE.
My only question is, no matter how many goals I score I cannot get any international caps!
It's driving me mad, I've made it to the English first division (the highest paying) and have one several league and cup medals, plus I top the scorers list by a mile but never get called up for my country.
Does anyone know how this is done?
I`m killing myself to find Striker. If we are talking about same game with one player and the scale that goes up and down and when you press a button it shots ball toward the goal, and every next level goes faster and faster.
Please send me this game at kolubaralazarevac@yahoo.com

No, you can't play at easy level all the time. The better your players and the more successful your team becomes, the higher the level the computer will place you at.
You can cheat by selling millions of shares, but you must save the game directly after. you can do this anytime as long as you save it straight away! If you play the next match you will be sacked without saving the game!
This was my favourite football manager game for many years, until I bought the Amiga game Premier Manager. However, I thought it was earlier than 1986, or maybe my big brother had a good "0-days" source as he received a Turbo Tape copy rather early.
The Boss is tape based, but I liked it so much that I spent a few years (!) to finally make successful saves to disk. I don't think I managed to include a file name requester, so each disk side could only contain one saved game. I also expanded the game with two more divisions, a handful extra free transfers (Doherty and so on) and bug fixed the nasty habit that an injured or suspended player would be sacked from the team if you saved the game. I even liked to utilize the fact that you can make a negative bank loan, so you put all your excess money in the bank, avoid some luxury expenses that otherwise would happen and get some interest rate back from the bank!
Am I the only one who has played this game so much? Would Stadium 64 like a copy of my enhanced, disk optimized version?
Oh well. It took more than two years, and I got to change my email address in the process, but now I have revived the game, added an option to have up to nine save files on a floppy. I'll mail a link to Stadium 64 soonish.
I noticed the screenshots for the re-release Soccer Boss on this site are different than the ones on e.g. Lemon 64. I thought the re-release was the exact same game, but it seems to have been visually improved a bit so while the game engine probably still is the same, it looks a little different. The screenshots of the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC versions suggest this as well, although I don't know if the "original" Peaksoft version was available on these computers.
Hi,
I have a question for you all. I wonder if any of you have experienced the same problems with the ABA 76 season teams (San Diego and Utah files)? I bought the software in the 80's, sold by Lances company on 5 1/4 floppies (tells you how old). I utilized a 486 Gateway Computer running the original Windows OS. These two teams would "hang up my computer". It would freeze and I would have to reboot the system. I copied the software to 3 1/2 floppies and reloaded the software. It still locked up on me when I tried to play these files. I just bought the Pro Game on CD and I still have the same problems. It still locks up, but now I can at least do the "End Task Now" and not have to reboot. I run MS Windows XP Home Edition, ver 2002. Does anyone have the same problems? If so, please email me. I emailed Lance Haffner and Bill Murray, but I have not recieved a reply.
I just download the game of jack nicklaus, but i´m stuck after yo choose the players, because you have to push F1 to continue
in the pc which key is the equivalent to the F1 commodore key ?
