Ever thought of maybe putting a game cam up high on that stand you guys built, then point it down into the grass field? Have it so high the framed image would cover most of the field. Since the emitter is basically shooting to the ground & back, it should trigger if anything moved on the ground. You'd get a great ariel shot of the critter with no foliage in between. Clear line-of-sight shot.
Plus with it so high, they may not hear/smell/ see it or whatever they do to know it's there. And they can't muck with it. :-D
