Night sights

by Rob Anderson

As I am sitting in my house sweating to the oldies because it hot, humid, with a storm system heading towards Horton, I began to think about the reasons why there are a large amount of BF sightings at night. Hypothetically lets see this from the big furries eyes. If I am fur covered hiding out in the swamps or forests, night is cooler, let muggy, depending on the location, and the biting insects are less likely to be out. Foraging for food would be better if you are not swatting black fies, deer flies, or mosquitoes. Your food stuff would consists of small animals and berries. Its easier to gather and hunt then. Most of what you gather is stationary or active near your ambush area because they worry about owls. Ducklings will not move nor will the goselings. Easy pickings.

But it is the heat and humidity that forces you to hunt at night. Winter is different because the Deer are out snd about due to the rut. Humans are trying to cool off like you and their possible presence would be deminished enough without an encounter. This give you cover to rummage for food near the houses or raid their gardens. It is that chance encounter that would frighten you and the residents inside the man made structure this would be a chnce you would take. Cool mornings could be a good time to forage but its the cool nights you enjoy. Your hairy. Long hair could house mites, ticks, and fleas. The cool air could make it possible for grooming them out like your chimp cousins.

So would you take advantage of this? You would.

Its a good explanation.
