Because...

money makes the world go round! the world go round! The world go round...that clinging, clanking sound--of money...as the character played by Joel Grey sang in the musical "Cabaret."

I think money grubbing sums up one probable reason for seeking fame in this area! And probably publicity, too. But to counterpoint--as many on this very board have said in the past--if you prove the existence of Sasquatch to the satisfaction of skeptics and get the big "pay off" for it, too--why not?

Compensation for one's expenses, dontcha know would be great.

However, what I find reprehensible by some in the BF research/investigation community is harpooning other researchers and down-playing their efforts to toot one's own horn.

Crabs never get up out of the bucket because they step on each other trying to do so instead of linking claws and boosting one another up and out. If we all linked "claws" in this endeavor the mystery would be solved and Sasquatch could take his rightful place in the animal kingdom.
