A discussion at the Chamber Forum (http://forums.chathouse.com/downstairs/chamber/) lead to a friend sharing the following information.
The single most thing people forget it seem is the meanings:
Domineering:
To rule over or control; to rule with insolence or arbitrary sway; to play the master; to be overbearing; to tyrannize; to bluster; to swell with conscious superiority or haughtiness;or arrogant rule without conscious thoughts for others feelings.
Dominate:
To exert a supreme, guiding influence on or over others: To control, govern, or rule by a given authority or power: To enjoy a commanding, controlling position in; To have or exert strong authority or mastery.

I'd like to see some comment on the differences, perhaps on how you tell the difference between a Dominant...and someone who is simply Domineering?
