you definantly have a point there.. SSC is a lot like many things.. what is sane or normal to one person could be psychotic to another.. for instance to a complete clueless nilla being whipped or spanked (things that are very normal to S/someone in the lifestyle) is a completely irrational and unsafe prectice.. for many years BDSM was diagnosed as a mental illness.. so what is sane?? and who's definition do you go by? Is it sane to be flogged? is it sane to be spanked? how about being choked? knifeplay? it is very difficult to define that fine line.. i believe the only real defintion we can distinguish by is Consensual.. because if it isn't consensual then it isn't safe or sane.. A good Dom/mes knows His/Her subs limits and know where to draw that line.. and while others may consider their practices to be SSC, there can be only two judges of that.. the Dom/mes and the sub.
