Yes springs do break, but it depends on the quality of the springs. Ive recently replaced my Quest stock spring with a JM spring, and theres a big difference. Once your able to find parts from vendors like Crosman and James Maccari, you cant go wrong. Love my Quest Thwwwaaaack
