Great News!!!!
I finally finished v4.
I am calling it v4.1 and it is a FULL version not a beta. i should get around to releasing it in about 2 weeks. it will have all the same functionality as v3.1.1. the only thing missing is the map and bubblefinder (both of which i will do)
I added a few neat things and i unfortunately, had to remove the LINUX option. ATTAC v4.1 will ONLY be for windows. Sadly, GTK+ was too immature for the windows platform and was not stable enough. v4.1 was written in C++ and with the win32 API. It is very stable and looks just like a windows application.
If you have any request for functionality, let me know now. i modified a few things to be better. For example, all the movers (colonist mover, resource mover, shield mover) all can do multiple sectors and can use twarp/pwarp or regular mover.
So voice your requests now. i will be testing out the version on my machine and will release in approx 2 weeks.

one more thing. i have been reading up on forums and ideas and one that i thought was great i added. When you see a fig, attac will destroy it if you set it to kill figs. now you can set up allies and enemys. it wont kill your allies' figs.
all the v4 database will be compatible and the reg code for v4 WILL work on v4.1

For the time being yes. when GTK+ matures to the point of being stable on windows, the i can revisit the source base that contains the LINUX stuff and just recompile it
however, it is not mature enough at the present moment.

Well, I did the text CIM ones. you can export the ports, the sectors, or both.
I dont think an OLE server will happen, and what is DDEPoke and DDERequest.

Import of text cim's is what we want (export is already in the current beta).
DDE is a another method of inter process communication (i.e. between Attac and a database app). Less tedious to implement than OLE, but I still doubt you'll want to do it
I said initially 2 weeks from the first posting. i havent gotten any show stopping bugs from my testers so i give it a 75% chance that sometime next week closer to the beginning of the week.
