I've been getting this message:
[SCRIPT NOTIFY] THERE IS A FREE MEMORY ERROR

Also Attac has been crashing a lot lately. It happens on 2 different computers (one win2k, one winXP), each uses a different version of Attac, and it happens on any BBS I might be on. I'm wondering what could the problem be other than something with Attac. Maybe some dumb thing related to a Windows "update"? The win2k Attac was installed a long time ago. The one running on winXP was a recent clean install.
And...recently email stopped flowing until I added my mailserver to Norton Internet Security's list of "trusted" domains.

I have noticed this a lot too. The memory error doens't seem to affect anything but Attac locking up causes some problems sometimes. the exact problem once in a while when you are tryying to do things manually the program will lock up and the only way to get out of it is to end an unresponsive program. I am using XP media edition and I have noticed it on my laptop when I try to play from that comp- that it does it too and that machine is running XP pro. Jsut so you know what platforms it is happening on

I think i have tracked down the free memory error. It shouldnt crash attac, rather, it will just leak memory. not too much though. if you find attac crashing alot, you can recreate your database.

As previously stated, sometimes when playing manually ATTAC becomes unresponsive. I have yet to see this happen while a script is running. The program hangs quite often, but doesn't seem to follow any kind of pattern. It may hang a couple minutes after I start playing a game, or I could go for up to an hour playing before it happens.
I run WinXP Pro. Have looked in the Event Viewer logs, but found nothing to indicate what may be going on. I run a pretty clean system with hardly any background tasks running to possibly cause issues.

Other than this one thing Earth, I find your software to be exceptional. I haven't played TW in a several years until the other night, and all the bugs I remembered from back then appear corrected. Thank you for the upkeep and revisions all these years.

Thanks. I will still be updating attac. Future releases will fix this memory bug, and also i have an upgrade to the expat (xml) library and i will be changing the registration system not to be linked to handles and other new things. This will occur after I finish Jumpgate.
