What do you guys think between either the RM005 FM titanium versus the AP Polaris? I know they are very different watches but that is the choice facing me. They are both "sporty" watches and able to go "underwater" as has been previously highlighted for the RM005 as one of its positive attributes. I like the shape of the 005 as it fits my smaller wrist better.
BTW, what other colour straps does RM have besides the fantastic yellow?
and all I can do is suggest that you follow your heart on this one. Steven Chew's advice is a neat way out of the dilemma, and one that I would agree with, but if there are funds sufficient for only one, go with one that speaks the most to you. They are very different, both in design, metals, heft, and the 'fit' of the watch on your wrist and as a person. Only you know the 'true' answer to all the questions.
Ask your Richard Mille dealer about straps. There are a variety of leathers and colours and they would be able to advise you. The RM is the watch that Felipe Massa has been wearing all season (if you are into Formula 1), and is limited not only as an edition (to 300 examples), but also potentially as the last issue for the RM005.

No question asked. It is the best best comfy watch I EVER wear. You will love the look, design, color and the finishing and most importantly the lightness. It is PERFORMANCE watch really. That is all F1 about. Lastly it is limited editon of 300 pcs only and felipe massa is wearing this pcs himself. You could see clearly that he is wearing this watch at the post F1 conference. So cool....

say that it is either a RM006 (which he used to wear), or the RM009 (which was also named after FM). However, he has mainly been wearing the RM005-FM ti this season (and it has been a good one!).
Very different watches, with different reasons going for each one.

I have to agree with all the comments so far, even the ones that disagree with the others...
If the 005 "fits" better, and you like both equally, I'd say go with that. That too was my decision.
Besides the darker satinated leather, and of course the bright yellow, there is also a ligher, almost silvery satinated leather. Of course, there are the original straps on the non-limited 005's...
you are such a lucky guy if you are able to purchase BNIB RM005FM. I heard that they are all fully booked when RM 005 FM is launched and There is no one ever cancel on this pcs.
AP Polaris is a very nice watch indeed, Polaris is 2000 pcs Limited Edition, The production will be untill the end of 2007. While RM 005 FM is only 300 limited edition and There is no way that you will be able to see them on display.
If I were you, I would grab it right away, I don't have to think twice . Good Luck!!!
