Bad Engine Now Cracked Intake Manifold

by

I have a 1998 Mustang GT convertible with the 4.6 engine. Fifteen months ago the engine failed and was replaced. Now after some warning lights came on I was first informed that engine hose was bad and needed to be fixed. Then I was called and told the intake manifold has a crack. Could the repair of the heater hose caused the manifold crack? Apparently the intake manifold was not replaced when the new engine was installed.

Any help is appreciated.

Clicking noise on clutch pedal/brake pedal.

by

Doesn't do it all the time. Clicking noise whether the clutch is engaged or not engaged, I can also feel it on the brake pedal. I took it to the ford dealer (mileage is 30,600) and they havn't gave me a answer yet. He said that if it's the clutch thats worn out that warranty won't cover it. If its due to a mechanical difficulty then the warranty will cover it. Ive owned the car for less than ninety days and of course the dealer Youngblood Motors in Springfield Mo, says just eat it.

97 mustang GT vibration, cruise control, hazard lights

by

hello, I have a 97 mustang GT. Ive recently been experencing problems with a vibration, shutter or grinding type feeling when in low rpms, or stopped and car is in gear. This only happens when car is in DRIVE. This problem seems to be getting worse. Also my cruise control stopped working a while back. I have checked main fuses in car. What could make this stop working? One more problem is that my hazard lights come on automaticlly when the key is turned over. They only flash for about a minute or two, and then shut off. I believe it may have been caused by me jumping the car to start it. What could this be? Any information whould be helpfull, Please help me. feel free to E-mail me. THANKS!!!!!!!!!

1986 Mustang 2.3L Gauge problem.

by

I have a 1986 Mustang 2.3L. I have noticed that my temperature, fuel and oil pressure gauge read incorrectly throughout normal operation of the car. Once in a while the gauges will jump back up to where they should be but then shortly return to read incorrectly. Does anyone know of this problem and how to cure it. If so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

RPM Outlet is a scam

by

I just purchased what i thought was a 85mm MAF and cold air kit from this outfit for my 2004 Mach1 and received my purchase 06/07/04. Well i was shocked to find only the MAF kit but no cold air inlet tube as per the description on their website. I sent them an email with regards to this on the same day with no response and called their customer service department only to be told tough **** and too bad,so sad and that I was now stuck with this bait and switch product. I then asked for a return authorization # from this courteous fellow only to be told they do not take returns and i am stuck with it and to do with it whatever i want to do....Well, i filed a complaint with the TEXAS State Attorney General and and letting all my fellow Mustang community know not to do business with this company, they will not back up their products and they will treat you like dirt if you ever call them with a problem...once again-avoid RPMOUTLET.COM like the plague that they are..funny thing too, as soon as I finished talking to that great customer service rep:George Pastran, the picture pop-up of a cold air tube that would appear when you clicked on the picture icon under the description was changed to the MAF unit..nice one George..also have filed with the Texas BBB and letting all my fellow Mustang enthusiast be warned of this outfit...

Intake got me higher times

by Daniel

I have a 2001 V6 mustang. Only things I have done to it so far is I put on true dual 2.5" cat-back Magnaflow exhaust. I has running in the very low 16s. I then put on a MAC CAI. I feel alot more torque and high end power, but then I went to the track and ran consistently high 16s. WHAT HAPPENED?? I should have broken into 15s. Any input would be VERY HELPFUL!!!

Re: Intake got me higher times

by stangman666

There are a number of factors that could have affected your times. The most common factors are the quality of your launch, the air temperature, and the humidity. A cold air intake on a V6 will only get you about 3-5 HP. It will not get you a half second in the 1/4 mile.

Re: intake manifold

There isn't any on the market that are affordable. They are all really stupidly priced and don't bump power very much for what you are paying.

HELP!!!

by

OK guys and gals, I need opinions.
I have a '02 Mustang GT Conv. automatic and it still has the stock exhaust. I am looking into Flowmasters and I cannot decide between the 40 series or 50 series, which is going to be the better one to purchase. I don't want it too loud on the inside because convertibles already have more road noise, but I do want it to sound good. Any and all opinions are greatly appreicated.

Re: HELP!!!

by Jarod

If you don't want it very loud, then get Magnaflows. They are much much better than Flowmasters in performance, and they have mufflers that will give you good quality sound with out having to yell at your passengers!

Re: help

by Jarod

Go to Magnaflow.com and go to their dealer page and search for one near you. That is the best way, because then you won't have to pay for shipping or have to wait for them to come in the mail. Also the dealer will know exactly what to put on for you. On Magnaflow.com you can also hear sound clips of what you car will sound like once you put them on!

Your own

by Raymond

I was in the same situation. I could not decide what kind of exhaust set i wanted to go with. Almost everybody went with Flowmasters that i talked to. I was thinking of Borla but the Cobra comes with Borla cat-back system. I wanted to b different. So i went with my own and took a chance................Bassani "X" pipe with Steeda exhaust. The sound is awesome when u punch it. Deep throaty but not to loud. At idle u can't hear a thing untill u touch the accelerator. So that is my input for exhaust systems.
