FS: 65-73 NOS Mustang Adjustable Rear Anti-Sway Roll Bar

by

eBay listing (mine)Item Number 180013708700

65-73 NOS Mustang Adjustable Rear Anti-Sway Roll Bar. STAM-BAR Model 6773-LAL 11/16” 65 66 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 Mustang Adjustable Rear Anti-Sway Roll Bar. Includes ALL hardware and instructions. Bushings include grease tips for squeak-free operation. Original list price $189. STAM-BAR sway bars are the only ADJUSTABLE bolt on rear sway bars for your early Mustang. This lets you fine tune the handling balance for YOUR specific Mustang, depending on what shocks, springs, and front sway bar you may have, and how YOU want your Mustang to handle!

Unfortunately STAM-BAR is out of business, so the only way to gain this advantage is to obtain a New Old Stock bar – like this one! Don’t let this get away, because there is no other bar like this out there, and no new ones are being made.

This auction is for the complete set up including the 11/16" bar, leaf spring mounting hardware, adjustable bar location hardware, bushings, and bushing hardware including grease fittings. It is new and has never been used or mounted. The bar has some minor nicks and scratches in the paint from handling, other than that it is mint.

Need a true Mustang sleuth (mystey electric problem)

by sblev

I have a 1991 Mustang LX, I'm the second owner. I bought it used from a lot in California in 1993. It's a great car, but for most of it's existence it's been doing something strange, and no one has been able to figure out why. We've had it in many repair shops, including dealerships and no one can discover the fix.

It eats batteries. We have to replace them on an average of every 3 years. We've had the alternator replaced, wiring checked, and a number of other searches and repairs done, but we can't find out why. And the real problem is that sometimes the battery will be drained even while driving, so that when we stop, the car won't start again!

Here are the clues: While driving, the temperature gauge will rise until it's topped out, while the battery indicator drops until it bottoms out! But if you stop the car and check under the hood, you can tell the engine is not overheating at all. Finally, the "check battery" symbol starts flashing under the speedometer. When that starts, we know we're running on borrowed time. But then, for no apparent the reason the gauges will suddenly return to normal.

There must be someone out there with a real feel for cars who can figure this out. Is it you?

It's occurred to me that somehow the gauges themselves might be the cause of the problem. What do you think?

Thanks for reading my post,
Steve

Beware of Saleen

by

Buyer Beware! I bought an 05 Saleen last year.Biggest mistake I ever made.I have had spring problems, seat covers,headrest,decals,2 wheels & still having exhaust problems.Ijust changed the gear in the rear end and to my surprise the gear that was advertised to be in the car as per the window sticker was not in the car. When I contacted Saleen they said it was a misprint in the sticker & they could not help,so I wonder what else I did not get? They are very hard to work with & very slow to respond

Driveshaft Too long?

by

67 Coupe
4bbl 289
Conversion from 6

I ordered a custom drive shaft and it seems they made it exactly to specs, not leaving the 3/4'' to 1'' play needed for axle travel. I could be wrong but I can't get the u joints past the cener bolt in the diff to bolt them on. I really don't want to have to send it back or risk them saying they did everything I asked and refuse to redo it if it's even wrong. What suggestions do you have for geting it on?

Should I try cutting off a bit of the slip yoke? Grind down the bolt on the diff? Try to move the axle back?

Just installed 3.55 gears and they make noise

by

I just installed new 3.55 gears and they make noise. The first time i installed them I think I had the pinion to close. i shimmed that out about another .012" and the patterns on the teeth look ok according to the install instructions. The drive side wear patter is sort of oval on the heel and the coast side is sort of oval on the toe. The book says that's ok. They make less noise since I shimmed the pinion. i don't think I need to move the pinion out further because that will make my drive contact even further heel. Now it make noise on acceleration and deceleration but not steady driving. Any ideas?

thanks.
