I even managed to track the original builder down after I found the "N" number on the keys. I called the guy who built it in 75 and got the story on it. Mine did have a minor mishap during a high speed taxi test when the plane decided to fly and the guy was not trying to do that. I guess he panicked and chopped the throttle. It came down a little hard but flat. He said it tweaked the gear but I see no signs of it. He basically parked the plane in his shop until he sold it in 1999. He bought other airplanes during the 25 years and flew them. My Teenie was basically garage art for him. The guy that bought it, repaired the gear, and put carb heat on it and sold it to someone in San Diego. I'm not sure if he flew it. If he did it wasn't legal. Then it went through a few other owners. I'm pretty impressed with what I see. The single port 1500 was converted to rear magnetto. This plane looks to be built right.
