sweet...

That is one sweet looking bird! I don't see any obvious things except one and that is the wing attachment stubs that stick out of the wings.

I would like to see those up close. Most builders make those incorrectly and that could definitely effect the g-rating of the wing attachment.

They SHOULD be 5/8" thick where they poke into the center wing, and the drilled and tapered holes or the bolt holes if they did it that way, should be centered as much as possible.

In about two hours we leave for vacation so I won't see any pix for about two weeks but e-mail me a shot of that wing stub up close. Otherwise that is a very good looking bird. Who was the original builder?

One more thing, the little mishap that you mention is the NUMBER one reason why Teenies are sold after their first hop. If the airplane is built light, it will lift off in ground effect at less than full throttle, then the quick stick inputs will induce PIO (pilot induced oscillations) and will scare the crap out of a low time pilot. And many times the forward jam of the stick in reaction drives the nosewheel into the pavement and damages the nose, engine, prop, etc. This was very common to BD-5's also.

Good luck and give us some reports on your progress. I'd like to see your name and e-mail also so that we can chat off group.
