that's really cool-has anyone done a roadtrip going north in winter?

Nice pictures. I especially like your mantra.. go south, don't look back. And your mid-life crisis was pretty mild, it didn't last long at all. And you found some mountains even in the south^^^^^^ And you even got to see the famous Joel and other friends!!!! Way cool.
Has anyone gone north on a roadtrip in the winter, or is that ridiculous because of bad weather, like to Minnesota?

the 1st of April. It snowed both times but the roads were good. Now, we were in western Iowa and went across South Dakota in March and it was the snowstorm from who knows where. Roads were really bad.Never want to do that again.

We went from San Diego through the Mt. Shasta area, Ashland, Oregon etc. all the way to Cle Elum, Washington....I got stuck in the snow once, but survived...and we had a lot of fun!
Driving in the snow freaks me out, I can't even think about it! I need to find someone to go on a road trip. Oregon sounds beautiful and Washington. Did you post any pictures? peace.
Brrrrrrrrr
That was the coldest I have ever been, I think! My Dad came to NYC and helped me move back to the West Coast. We drove through you know all the cold northern states! Crazy, we had a motor home and it was so cold the heater couldn't keep it warm in side. I was wearing my long jons and pants and two coats! Oh, and a down blanket during the day while we were driving! eeeeek!
