The Big Laguna Trail...we spotted acorn woodpeckers, hairy woodpeckers, red tailed hawks, white throated swifts, scrub jays, a house finch, and ban tailed pigeons...and then we ran into a SKUNK and a COYOTE!!!! The swifts were too fast to catch on film...very camera shy! Oh...and some SNOW left over from a couple of weeks ago!!! It was a little over five miles out in east San Diego and just a beautiful day! I love God's creation!

These are wonderful! Like all the animals came out to pose!

Just for you! That skunk is fabulous! Just about to spray?! And, the hawk on top of the pine!

When I lived in CA as a kid, we used to smell skunk all the time when driving around the outskirts of LA. Unfortunately, it meant they had been hit and killed by a car. We also used to see a lot of tumbleweeds scurrying across the roads.

Jo Ana Banana sure is cute!

nice!!! What do you think of the wildflowers?

March 5 2008, 10:37 PM

I like the last one the best. Tree climbing? Have you seen the wildflowers around lately, I have seen people pulled over on the 163 taking pictures of them.

that photo of the skunk is very impressive. brings back memories from a poem my mom would always quote when I was a kid

"but if I should see an animal in black and white with a stripe down his back, I wouldn't just stop and stare; I'd RUN."\

looks like an absolutely beautiful day!
