Mob Tactics of Tucson City Court/LDC Collections
(Bowling for Organized Crime)

I am being extorted by the City of Tucson and LDC Collection Systems! In November 2005 my wife received a notice from the State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Department that her license was being suspended at the request of Tucson City Court. When we contacted the court we were informed that records DATED 2001 showed a complaint of, “failure to produce evidence of financial responsibility.” We do not recall being informed of this complaint at any time prior to the suspended license DATED 2005. Never the less we submitted to the court copies of our insurance coverage for the period in question. The State of Arizona lifted its restriction, we paid a $35 license re-instatement fee and in good faith carried on with our family Christmas in spite of the obvious frustration of a first hand witness to waste of government time and money and the unfounded, unexpected hit to our family’s Christmas budget. Just when we thought we over this we received a threatening letter from “LDC Collection Systems” claiming to represent Tucson City Court and demanding a payment of $178.49 or my property would be confiscated and any number of hardships placed on my family. I responded with a letter questioning LDC’s authority to act on behalf of the elected government of Tucson, as well as pointed out their violations of the “Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.” So far they have not provided any validation or certified proof that they are authorized to act on behalf of Tucson City Court. I also updated LDC on the re-instatement of my wife’s license by the State DMV. Their response to my letter was another threat, if I didn’t pay in 30 days I would suffer bad credit from the national credit bureaus, they would garnish my wages, intercept my Tax refunds, and/or suspend my wife’s license again. I have appealed to the State Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, and the ACLU, none of which feel there is enough publicity to make it worth their while to help me. Am I wrong to expect honest justice from any level of government in the United States? Would you help me with this?
