UN Human Rights

Much has been said about the glorious humanatarian nature of the United Nations. Why, if they didn't involve themselves in the internal matters of so many nations, terrible atrocities would go unchecked. Funny, I wonder if the Somalis would agree with that assessment:

Two Belgian paratroopers who were photographed roasting a Somali boy over a flaming brazier were expected to be jailed for a month and fined 200 pounds after admitting the atrocity in a military court in Brussels. Although the maximum sentence allowed was one year, the prosecuter demanded only a month's sentence.

Another soldier, accused of forcing a young somali to eat pork, drink salt water, and then eat his own vomit, during a UN "Restore Hope" mission was also to be brought to trial.

A fourth soldier, suspected of murder was to go to trial in September (at the time of this article). He was accused of murdering a Somali boy whom he was earlier photographed urinating on. The boy, according to 2 paratroopers, had been caught trying to steal found and had been locked in a container for 48 hours.

An Italian paratrooper, asked about the atrocities committed by UN peacekeepers in Somalia responded, "What's the big deal? They are just niggers anyway." (Source: London Telegraph, June 24, 1997)

This is absolutely disgusting. The UN strives to show itself on the moral highground, but if these UN actions are scrutenized more closely, and their so-called humanatarian grounds investigated, we see a wolf in sheeps clothing with bloodied teeth.

For those who are interested, I followed the UN's mission in Serbia and Croatia, and their claims of atrocities. If anyone would like to see through some of the lies and hypocracy presented by the media, simply provide your email and I'll send you the site address.
