I do not worry about the killer queers chasing me down the road for my but. I do however find myself disturbed about the decay of society and it's lacking morals.
Whether people are gay or straight really is not a big concern to me. I do however object to having it taught as a normal and acceptable way to live.
Every ill of humanity has been linked to genetics. It is sort of a chicken or egg thing. I do not deny that genetics play a part in who we will become, but our response and perception to life events does influence the chemical make up of our bodies. Also, genes do not determine our actions.
As for gayness not being taught in grade 1. There is a case in British Columbia where it was being taught. The issue has become a human rights issue there and ignores the fact that the teaching materials were not OK'd by the department of education.
It is true that many harms can happen to someone who suppresses gay tendencies due to lack of acceptance. It is unfortunate that religious beliefs have caused hatred in some people with regard to this issue.
I have a tendency to believe that it is a mental issue that determines gayness. Of all the gay people I know of, they were all sexually abused. For the ones who deny abuse as a cause, an event may have become a regressed memory. The cause may also be due to poor role models or difficulty with sexual maturity as a result of insecurities.
Whatever the reason for queers existing, they do not need to be persecuted but accepted as fellow humans and helped if possible.
The reason few people tolerate gays is because of their desire for public displays (such as gay pride parades) and teaching of their lifestyles to others. It is especially offensive when the sexually immature are taught that they may be gay. This does not assisted in development of a child's sexuality. TV these days depict being gay as ok or even as a good thing. It is sad that so many children are raised on such programming.
Homophobia will become even greater with government pushing it on its citizens. Divide and conquer. A queer way towards population control.
