AT&T and Planned Parenthood

May 9 2000 at 9:08 PM

To all, whenever I used to get a call from AT&T (American phone company ffor all of you canadianc..) asking me to switch, I would
hem and haw about not liking the red tape of switching and I am happy with
the company I am already with. In the past few months though, I have just
said that because they support Planned Parenthood, I would not go with them.
I wasnt really sure if this was absolutly true, but I assumed. I would always
get "Ok, thank you" and then the next time I got a "Other people have said
this before, but its not true...". Well they called again today. I was a bit
more bold because I just saw their name on the official list of PP
supporters. The caller connected me to the supervisor and I then got a long
speech about how "we all have our beliefs but that shouldnt get in the way
of saving money".. So I said "Basically you are saying that although you
support the murder of children, I should still go with you and save some
money???" He explained how by taking my stand wont do a bit of good because
PP will continue and I wont make any difference. I pointed out to him that I
and others MUST be making a difference for him to continue with this
phonecall. I ended the call with a "When you drop PP and start supporting
Crisis Pregnancy Centers, give me a call.." We obviously are putting a dent
in this one company. I urge everyone to do this when the opportunity arises
and let others know too.. I know its just one company, but I used to think I
was just one phone customer.. I am sorry this is so long, but I hope
others will be encouraged to voice their opinions and really make a
difference.. Doreen

That's really disgusting

May 11 2000, 7:54 PM

I think everyone should be alarmed at the new trend which is developing - that companies, and especially large corporations, are providing political rhetoric alongside their products and services.

What right do these mega-bucks corporations have, telling people what stand they should take on the issues?

Whether or not someone believes in abortion, they should boycott AT&T. Whether or not someone supports gun control they should boycott Levi's Strauss.

This is a matter of principle. How can we support companies whose mandate extends into the political arena? How can we buy products from companies who in turn use that money to support causes which we may, or may not, agree with?

I urge everyone to express their distain for the blatant influence peddling of commercial giants with the phone company they choose, with the jeans they wear, with the coffee they drink. Let's tell them in no uncertain terms that they have no place in the political arena.

And liberals talk about seperation of church and state as if it were a moral edict... Such hypocracy can only be stomached with equal amounts of lies brought to a slow boil and then slowly marinated in B.S.

Companies getting political...

May 13 2000, 5:43 PM

I agree that we all would be better off if these companies just kept to their jobs. I would be happy if AT&T would just drop PP altogether along with any groups/organizations. Although, to be honest, I am always grateful when a company supports Crisis Pregnancy Centers because we are non-profit and everything we do depends on the generosity of others.. Doreen

polotical companies

Have you ever noticed the hidden message in TV ads? When the Gap introduced their first jean commercial, it was hard to tell what they were advertising. They brought out an ad with pre-teen girls dancing around, then a similar ad with pre-teen boys. I am sure that perverts of different bents enjoy these ads. Why not show people doing regular activities wearing jeans. Well of course I am reading too much into the ads. Think of some ads, where men are put down and made a joke of or the one where a couple is walking by a parked car and another woman is walking toward them and the guy turns to look at the car and the second woman turns to look back at him looking, the woman with him starts to argue with him and he points at the car. This ad does a focus on the women with great shots of both and the car seems more background. Help me out here, think of some specfic ad you have seen and what is the hidden message?

Big Biz Supports Globalism

May 15 2000, 3:09 PM

Big businesses support globalism because it would make it easier to sell their products and services in other countries. For this they are willing to sell out the souvernty of their own nation. As for abortion and gun control, that I don't get? Capitalism makes the money but somehow it always seems to fall into commie hands?

As for commercials, every commercial on TV pushes feminism. Judges, construction workers, wealthy business people and fireman are all woman in the commercials. This is not how it is in real life or even how it should be but your kids will grow up to accept this as normal. Women are the smart ones, men are just big stupid kids that need to be taken care of. You will also notice that in most commercials the men and women are the same height? Do they really expect to convice us that men and women are the same size? Did you know that the government forces companies to do this? One company made a commercial showing a group photo of all the employies, big brother wouldn't allow the commercial to air because the men were too much taller than the women! They had to shoot the photo again with all the women standing in the front so that the height difference would be less noticable.

Liberal, feminist anti-family TV ads..

May 16 2000, 6:34 PM

I can think of a few. One opens up with a woman's voice saying "I am a busy mom with full-time work, kids and so forth. You know the drill.." (Notice how the job comes before the kids??)
Another is this. Three kids at school comparing lunches.. One has PB&J, the second has bologna and the third proudly shows his "Lunchables" which is a pre-packaged lunch with all kinds of goodies. He explains that his mom was too busy to make lunch because she had a meeting. The other kids both exclaim "I wish my mom worked.." (The kid who's mom works is the lucky one and gets the prize) They sure are sneaky. Doreen

dead-baby industry and planned parenhood

May 19 2000, 10:26 AM

Planned parenthood is a member of the national abortion federation. Life Dynamics Inc. (a pro-life group) has people who work in abortion clinics to expose the truth about the abortion industry. Make no mistake, this is big business, big profit industry and women are being exploited to support this tissue collection network and feed this industry. Planned parenhood have contracts with abortion clinics. Parts of a single aborted baby is worth thousands of dollars. These butcher shops (excuse me,- murder floors called clinics harvest eyes, livers, brains etc. from dead babies (fetuses) This indicates something of the vast trade in human tissue from aborted babies. Quite an industry. Who makes the profits? What are the social implications of this mass murder? How can we be non involved in standing against this and at the same time call ourselves Christian. Get out there and fight and expose this state and UN sanctioned mass murder of the unborn. Any comments, - this issue is always current......
