Heroes should never be forgotten

May 26 2000, 1:55 PM

You make an excellent point on your page concerning the defensive use of firearms. Liberals never cease to make known how many people are dying every hour, minute, or second due to firearm use, but they somehow fail to mention that every hour, minute, or second, someone's life is being SAVED by firearms as well.

Those who died in defense of their country during world war II should not be forgotten. Neither should the lesson learned during thr war- that tyrants take guns, before they start taking lives.

It is no wonder that children have lost sight of their heritage. The government has done nothing to preserve it. In fact, the U.S. government seems to be pulling the pledge of allegiance from classrooms around the country as a "time saving" or "politically correct" move.

Those who died would be rolling over in their graves, if they knew that today, we have begun to follow in the footsteps of our enemies and have forsaken the freedoms that they had faught so hard to protect.

Yours in Truth,

The Sharpened Pen

Honor the Flag

May 28 2000, 7:51 PM

HONOR OUR FLAG

In the Armed Forces of the United States, at the Ceremony of Retreat, the flag is lowered, folded in a triangle fold, and kept under watch throughout the night as a tribute to our nation's honored dead. The next morning it is brought out, and at the Ceremony of Reveille, run aloft as a symbol of our belief in new life.

The portion of the flag denoting honor is the canton field of blue containing the stars, representing the states who have provided the men and women who have served in uniform. The canton field of blue dresses from left to right and is inverted only when draped as a pall on a casket of a veteran who has served our country honorably
in uniform.

1. The first fold of our flag is a symbol of our belief in God.

2. The second fold is a symbol of our devotion to the United States of America.

3. The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the Veterans who have departed our ranks.

4. The fourth fold represents our reliance on God for guidance and strength.

5. The fifth fold is a tribute to freedom and all that it means to us.

6. The sixth fold represents our heart. For it is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

7. The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is the Armed Forces who protect our country and our flag against all her enemies.

8. The eighth fold is a tribute to honor our Mother's faith, love, loyalty, and devotion that have shaped the character of the men and women who have made this country great.

9. The ninth fold is a tribute to Father's, who give their sons and daughters for the defense of our country.

10. The tenth fold is a tribute to American families everywhere. Our strength is built upon their strength.

11. The eleventh fold is a symbol of our belief in justice and equality for all.

12. The twelfth fold represents an emblem of eternity, and glorifies our faith in God.

13. The thirteenth fold is a symbol of our thirteen original colonies.

When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of our national motto, "In God We Trust." After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the American Soldiers who first served under General George Washington to establish and
preserve the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed...

What America once was...

May 28 2000, 10:26 PM

Sadly I wonder if those men had been able to look into the future and see America today, would they have fought at all? Why fight the nazis only to turn around and head in that same direction? Our soldiers paid the ultimate price for our freedom and we put it out with the trash. America is kinda the last stand for freedom. If Americans are unhappy with their rights they can always move to some other country and be oppressed, but if you want more freedom where can you go? We've seen how well the ballot works, maybe it's time to try the bullets. Lets gear up and fight the nazis one more time!

Nifedipine

Calcium channel blocking drug class, different brand names like procardia etc. Used to control high blood pressure as it inhibits the passage of calcium into certain body cells and on and on.... Yes, our troops went out there to stand and block the spread of tyranny and to free the enslaved nations - they died in vain. Today behind closed doors with government gestapo guarding the doors, they meet in private and sell us out to global dictatorship. The ballot box is rigged and has been for some time. The new world order owns all parties anyway so there is no change in direction or agenda when a different party takes over. The election charade will be allowed to continue for the moment to ensure a passive population until all guns are removed from private hands. Pacify, quiet them down = apathy.
