I didnt support John McCain, and this story didnt change my mind. It still brought tears to my eyes.. I will try to tell it as best as I can from memory..
When McCain was a POW, he was sharing a cell with a buddy. Once in a while they were allowed to recieve packages from home. This buddy had gotten some red, white and blue fabric. He immediatly started sewing a US flag on the inside of his shirt, because if it were on the outside and found, he would be beaten. Of course it was eventually noticed, and as McCain recalled, the buddy was beaten close to death. His friend was thrown back into the cell all bloody and bruised to a pulp. McCain had dozed off to wake up to the site of his buddy (with bloody hands and eyes so swollen he could barely see)sewing on another flag into the inside of his shirt.
Richard Nixon was run out of office and faced disbarment just as Clinton does. Nixon to his credit relinquished his law license from California sparing the country the unpleasantness and embarrassment of having him disbared. Don't expect Clinton to do the same, he will fight it aLL the way. The Clintons are America's shame. Pride is great but this president makes me feel nothing but shame.
Yes, Tricky Dick does look like a good guy compared to the Clintons. We have not had much to crow about in Prime Ministers in recent history and the one we have now is an embarrassment anywhere he goes. Not only the way he butchers the English language (on purpose) but the foot in mouth comments he makes in general.
