:
: When NAFTA was being shoved down America's throat, the usual lackeys and
: mouthpieces for the new world order masters were chirping the absolute
need
: for passage of this unconstitutional treaty. The predictions of
: non-passage were dire indeed. The biggest pushers of this treaty were the
: Republicans and of course, after Billy Clinton was installed in the Red
: House, he has been a staunch supporter of destroying America's job base
and
: sending our industrial and manufacturing base off U.S. soil.
:
: NAFTA & GATT were going to "create jobs for America." In a pig's ear.
: More than 6,000 factories have closed and if we ever have to gear up to
: defend our shores as we did back in 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl
: Harbor--we can't do it--the factories are closed down, folks. We are
: sitting ducks, just the way it's planned.
:
: We have always been a nation that produced what we used and sold off the
: rest. We became the greatest country on this earth by protecting our
: industrial, manufacturing and agricultural base. Now it has been
: systematically destroyed and with it, our people are being destroyed.
: Millions of Americans have been forced off the land and out of factories
: into big, crime ridden cities to work in service-oriented jobs, the ever
: burgeoning prison and medical industries. Does anyone see the danger in
: this picture?
:
: Does anyone see the danger of foreign countries supplying all of our
: food? What happens, just like oil, when they decide to raise the prices
: out of this universe? Can't happen? Oh, please. The big monopolies like
: ADM are gobbling up farmland and they are globalists to the nth.
: What happens when only three or four huge conglomerates control all the
: food supply in America? Can't happen? Oh, please, it's happening right
: under America's noses which are glued to the boob tube watching inane crap
: on television every night.
:
: The very boots worn by the U.S. Army are manufactured by the murdering
: Communist Chinese. This makes me beyond sick and who the hell do you
think
: is responsible for that insanity? The United States Congress--both
: parties. Wake up, America. It's not my congressman, it's the whole darn
: bunch of them. And, please, don't sing me the praises of Congesswoman
: Marcy Kaptur. She is a member of the Progressive Caucus which is tied
like
: an umbilical cord to the Democratic Socialists of America. Her overall
: voting record is anti-American but as a neutralizer, she's got people
: fooled with her stand on NAFTA. You have to study how these people think,
: better yet, study Sun-tzu's Art of War and you won't be fooled any more.
:
: The Art of War (Sun Tzu)
:
: With the continued closure of public lands "for the environment," the
: planned bankrupting of the family owned farmer and the destruction of our
: industrial and manufacturing base, these big, crime and filth ridden
cities
: will only continue to grow as the population is pushed into them.
: Think about it.
:
: Our standard of living is being jammed into the sewer and soon you
: commuters won't be able to commute far enough away to flee from cities of
: two million or so people. There will be no place left to go because new
: world order lackeys like Bill Clinton, backed up by a cowardly Congress,
: will continue to shrink living space. Massive development of housing will
: continue to eat up available farm land to grow our food. Think about it
: real hard because it's in full swing.
:
: Unless all immigration is stopped for at least five years, you will see
the
: continuing collapse of our infrastructure that cannot handle the load
: now. Think the roads are bad now? Think the schools are overcrowded now?
: Think you're being raped in federal, state and local taxes now to fund
this
: explosion in population and generations of socialist and welfare mentality
: families? You haven't seen anything yet. I invite you to check out:

:
: Karl Marx was a big supporter of "free trade":
:
: "Free trade breaks up old nationalities...In a word, the free trade system
: hastens the social revolution. Gentlemen, I am in favor of free trade"!
:
: Wiser men warned against it:
:
: "I shall ways take a peculiar pleasure in giving every proper
encouragement
: in my power to the manufacturers of my country."
: President George Washington, 1789.
:
: "He, therefore, who is now against domestic manufacture, must be for
: reducing us either to dependence on that foreign nation, or to be clothed
: in skins, and to live like beasts in dens and caverns. I am not one of
: these."
: - President Thomas Jefferson, 1815.
:
: "The measure of the wealth of a nation is indicated by the measure of its
: protection of its industry; the measure of the poverty of a nation is
: marked by the degree in which it neglects and abandons the care of its own
: industry, leaving it exposed to the action of foreign powers."
: - Congressman Henry Clay, 1824.
:
: "If we buy a steel rail from England, we have the rail and they have the
: money. But if we buy it from ourselves, we have both the rail and the
money."
: - President Abraham Lincoln, 1864.
:
: "The global theory of free trade is siphoning off America's wealth and
: bringing her economy to the level of others. The theory is displacing
: American workers who otherwise would be employed." - Senator George
Malone,
: 1958.
:
: "Tell them (the South Carolinians who wanted to nullify the Tariff Act of
: 1832) that I will hang the first man of them I can get my hands on to the
: first tree I can find." Andrew Jackson, 1833 Under NAFTA & GATT, the
: U.S. has whizzed away about a half trillion dollars a year in tariffs-
the
: very constitutional revenues the Founding Fathers mandated in the
: U.S. Constitution to fund a limited form of Republican government.
:
: Hello out there:
: We are paying for the destruction of our own future.
: And yet, the working class of this country continue to toss bushels of
: money at the very politicians who are bringing us to ruin. It's insane.
:
: Know what? The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, their chapters and the rest of
: these free traders can kiss my foot with their "free trade" business.
: It's driving good, honest business right into the ground for Americans and
: enriching the pockets of foreign governments. Naturally, the federal
: courts (parasites) who must protect the host (the prostitutes in
Congress),
: are siding with the destruction of America:
:
: IGNORING THE WARNING SIGNALS
: http://www.devvy.com/warning_19991017.html
:
: If you think these are strong words, I suggest that they aren't strong
: enough, not when you've seen the destruction all across this land as I
have
: because of NAFTA & GATT. There is a whole world outside a person's office
: and the local mall.
:
: America cannot survive as a service oriented country. We are on the road
: to doom and there should be no mistake about that statement. When the
: unconstitutional NAFTA was signed into law in January, 1994, we had no
: trade deficit with Mexico and in fact, had a $5 billion dollar surplus.
: By February of 1998, it had hit a deficit of $16 billion and it continues
: to grow. Any fool should understand that all these rotten, corrupt
: countries like Mexico and under-developed third world nations cannot
afford
: to buy U.S. products. Additionally, they all protect their job base
while
: demanding that we not only hand over our sovereignty, which we did with
: NAFTA & GATT, they have demanded we meet their terms and it is killing
what
: made this country great.
:
: Well, here we are 11 months into the year 2000 and let's take a look at
the
: latest figures on the trade deficit:
:
: U.S. Trade Deficit Surges to $34.3B (BILLION)
:
: By Martin Crutsinger
:
: AP Economics Writer
:
: Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000
:
: WASHINGTON
:
: The U.S. trade deficit surged to a record $34.3 billion in September as
: Americans' appetite for cars, clothes and other foreign goods hit an
: all-time high while exports shrank slightly.
:
: The $8.7 billion deficit with China was the largest ever recorded with any
: country, pushed up by increased shipments of Chinese auto parts,
: telecommunications equipment and toys...
:
: So far this year, the trade deficit is running at an annual rate of $360
: billion, far above the record of $265 billion set last year...
:
: Critics of the Clinton administration's trade policy, however, argue that
: the exploding trade deficit will come back to haunt the country when
: domestic growth starts to falter.
:
: Economists also worry that the billions of dollars transferred to
: foreigners to pay for all the imports represents a threat to the U.S.
: dollar and could trigger sharp drops in the U.S. stocks if foreign
: investors suddenly decide to dump their U.S. holdings...."
:
: Ladies and gentlemen: I have been watching C-SPAN for years and I'm
telling
: you as sure as I sit here that there are people serving in the United
: States Congress, both the house and unlawfully seated senate, that are
: functionally illiterate and can barely read. Few if any members of
: Congress even read the NAFTA treaty and only one unlawfully seated (and
now
: retired) senator, Hank Brown from Colorado, read GATT all the way
: through. I submit to you that even if most had read it, they would have
: been unable to comprehend what they read. Am I saying they are stupid?
: No, I am saying they are functionally illiterate.
:
: Outrage doesn't even begin to describe what is happening and it will only
: get worse. Every time Americans buy foreign products instead of Made in
: the USA, they are putting another nail in America's coffin:

NAFTA & GATT

December 8 2000, 7:07 PM

Our experience in Canada has been similar re: industrial/Manufacturing jobs going south to Mexico as factories close here to take advantage of cheap labour in Mexico. Our farmers are out blocking highways because the family farm is going down the drain due to low prices for grain etc. yet our government brings in a flood of cheap poorly made (with slave labour/child labour)products from China. I recently bought a wall clock (without checking for labels,-) turned out it was made in China and did not work from day one. I took it back and exchanged it for a different clock, it too was made in China and garbage. Zellers have now cleared out all these Chinese garbage clocks and the clocks now being sold are made in Canada, and they work fine. I am very careful in buying anything now, checking to see where it is made first. I look for made in Canada or U.S. and do not buy this shoddy trash from China or other third world countries. Many toys I find have a Canadian company name on the box, but they are made in China so you have to be careful to read the package. I would sooner pay twice the price for something made here because it means, quality product and it means jobs here.

NAFTA / GATT

You make Canada sound like the USA of some years ago. I find NO products from the US left in stores around us. I consider it a treat to find anything from Canada even, but the idea of a QUALITY product in any line of goods has long passed from our lives. Auto parts are maddeningly unreliable for instance. Clothing is simply next weeks rags when we buy it.

Those of us with some age experience can see why families need 2 incomes. NOTHING of quality can be bought and items once considered lifetime are now, at best, replaced every 2 years. Washing machines and other appliances for instance. If China ever produces automobiles for export, we can all walk. BAREFOOT no less.

GATT/NAFTA

You are right. It is getting more difficult every day to find quality products. Clothing lines, toys, books you name it. In Toronto one giant east end mall complex (Pacific Mall) is all Chinese stores and shops and the only products sold there are from China. Most products from 3 rd world countries are of very poor quality and do not last. Such items are no bargain so I avoid places like Walmart and Biway to shop. You still have to be careful when shopping at Eatons, the Bay or Zellers as even they have some items (made in China or Taiwan, Philippines etc.) mixed in with their more quality made items. Canadian Tire has a mix of products but seems to push "made in Canada" stock. The bottom line is you have to check the item over good before buying. I look for made in Canada or U.S.A. when I buy, and yes I often pay a little more but it is worth it in the end. You can buy a clock made in Canada just as cheap as the China made ones. The difference is the one made here has some workmanship about it and actually works.
