Free trade was highly touted in Canada. We were told how important it was to have NAFTA. The jobs, the jobs. Instead we have watched industry move to Mexico because of cheaper labour. Smaller Canadian companies bought out by U.S. or multinational conglomerates. The quality of products on the market decline as our stores are flooded with poor quality Chinese or other goods. The Chinese use child slave labour and produce sub-quality items which under price domestic products forcing producers here to fold up. Don't buy it if it is not made in Canada. Maybe that is a way to get around the short sighted price tag only consideration and force this garbage off our shelves. What have we gained (or should I say lost) to NAFTA.
Has it been all bad? The U.S. just wants it all, and Canada owes a lot to NAFTA. Does it not make sense to have free trade movement within the north america trade zone? The U.S. does ok in this as well. How many moves to Mexico are we talking? Mexico is a 3rd world country and is not set up to provide service just cheap labour.
I envy you my friend, I only wish I could not see what is going on in the world. I would love to be able to follow blindly unaware of what is happening to our Countries. To be able to disregard all the Soldiers that have given their lives to protect us from being over taken by communism. To be safe with no will to fight for the rights of others. It must truly be a beautiful life, to have no fear of tomorrow.
I don't even know how to answer your statements.
Perhaps if they contained at least a grain of truth, I might be able to.
If the US has not done badly under NAFTA, why have the jobs gone to Mexico just as Ross Perot said they would?
What exactly do we in the US "want all of" in this contrived rush toward Global bankruptcy?
I know that WE are morally bankrupt as a nation, but you appear to reside in an educational bankruptcy as well.
