There are so many climates there - cool rainy mountains, hot dry desert, river front.
It's like nowhere else I've ever been. Great hiking trails, beautiful scenery, good camping.
October is my favorite time of year at Big Bend, not too hot, not too cold. Everybody should go there sometime in their lifetime.
If you decide to go there, there's is a terrific motel at the Chisos Basin. If you are staying in the area known as the Stone Cabins, please take an airmattress. They have the hardest beds I've ever slept on.
My daughter and I go down to Big Bend every year in November. Great time because the weather is not so extreme (frost in the morning, great fog and it gets in the 80's during the day). Nice hiking trails, good camping and the best chili in Teralingua (just outside the park).

May Day, welcome to the web site!
Okay, that settles it: I need to visit Big Bend National Park!
