It's been raining gully-washers continuously here today. Stay off the "streets" of Houston today!!!
(Unless, you drive the amphibious boat )

Thanks for asking! Sorry I missed this. I was out-of-town working in Florida and Michigan for all but 2.5 wks between the 3rd week of June and mid-August! And I just so happened to be in Okaloosa Co, Florida when the rain hit Marble Falls. I was spared. Run off from my street came in the front door and at the slab by my bathroom (flower bed is level with the slab). It wasn't a lot and since I have tile floors throughout, no damage. One of the creeks that they showed on the news, runs behind my house. Luckily, I'm far enough up that the water didn't make it to the back yard. However, just a few houses north of me got flooded. Boats from across the hwy (281) were washed across and into neighbor's back yards.
We are so lucky no one was killed in our city.
That wasn't the case when last Friday night that mad man walked into a local sports bar (next door to the Police Dept) and wound up shooting the bartender. I was eating less than a city block away when it happened. I saw the lights when I came out of the China Kitchen and drove by, wanting to make sure my son hadn't been stopped for something (he has a lead foot). I saw the ambulance in the alley behind O'Neil's and thought someone must have gotten sick or there was a fight. But when I tried to turn on Main St, 2 police cars and the fire truck was blocking the street. I figure it must've been a big fight. When I got home, I heard on the news a bartender was shot and killed. I called my best friend (who I'd just been eating with) and she was on the phone with her sister, the bartender's mom had called her and was saying something happened to her son (Mike). She didn't know it was on the news he was killed. I didn't personally know Mike but by what I hear, he was a wonderful guy.
May God Bless family and friends and those that witness the horrific events that took place not in Llano, Marble Falls, Jonestown and PA.
