Check out this new style on interesting glass marbles
by Travis Weber
My name is Travis and I have been developing my marbles for a few years now. I have been consciously working at a style of marbles that I call my own. Take a look a my website and feel free to contact me.
I am the executor of an estate that includes hundreds of marbles, some dating back to the late 1800s. Would like to sell the entire collection in one go. Anyone interested? Can you direct me to someone who can help me?
Please send e:mail to my yahoo address. Note that the last part of the address is "ca" and not "com."
I used to play a marble game as a child where you would build a four marble pyramid and set a shooter line that you determined the length of. We always played for keeps. There was no circle involved though, everytime I ask someone about this they start trying to tie it into a game with a circle drawn in the dirt.Simply stated: It was a pyramid and shooter line. Has anybody played this and are there any formal rules?
Hi Jessica.
Your speckled marbles are most likely made by Vacor De Mexico. Some people call them spotties or confetti marbles. I really like them.

Has anyone seen a blue marble with a metal (brass I think) band around it with the saying "he has the whole world in his hands" ? I have one and am looking for info. Thanks
i have a Keller Patent Marble Shooter, there is nothing on the box other than the name. Inside the box there is a metal spring loaded tube that has: Pat. May 8/06 stamped on it. Also there is a brown and purple marble enclosed. Can anyone tell me more about this?
I have assembled the best of Mega Marbles attempts at the old marbles and put them into one great set. Check out my website if you would like to order them. I also have a set for the collectors...I hand selected the marbles so that the Tins contain the very widest variety in Mega Marbles. Either set is a must for collectors.
Don't miss out I have a limited number available at a great price!

And I finally found Grandma Dee! I wondered where you went! I miss you at Blocks Board!
Popular demand has settled on Bob Block's bulletin board and Alan's Say Your Piece as the forums of choice. Access either through my links at www.themarbleguy.com

So how good will my Marbles be if I use a Hothead?
by
First you compare an Etch-A-Sketch with a computer to get a rough idea. The Hot Head, will make Marbles, and If you NEVER get around an excellent glass Marble maker you might be happy, But then again, sooner or later you will realize you would have been far better off to have spent the difference, and bought a Minor Burner by Nortel. The Minor Kit is not that much more expensive, and you can rent a tank set up. Just get the Minor kit and pay the extra $100.00 !Listen to grandma now, experience is the best teacher.
but I think that there is at least one too many bulletin boards. I'm going to leave it up for a while, but I think it's settling down to Say Your Piece or Bob's Board, despite the complaints about both.
Hey dick dont forget about my board located at http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/45050 lots of visitors are going their. I know some people are kind of shy!
well, Now we are back to glass. The Hot Head, torch is a Mapp Gas torch. It is Cheap with a Kit coming in at about $150.00 at: Frantz Bead co., www.frantzbead.com, Or for you folks back East Arrow Springs. Gramdpa's Christmas gift, The Phantom Torch came from arrow Springs, Wow! Now we are really are talking Money! Anyway, the Hot head will make marbles, and give you the feel of marble making. . You must buy a Marble mold with the kit. I suggest a grapphite mold, as a Cherry wood mold will do just that! MOLD, unless you tend it every week, and change it's water.. Love, grandma.
Here's a marble I have in my collection. I think its a Christensen.
What looks like an as made crease is
actually smooth and wet mint. It is a turkey. The black lines are very fine, on the reverse it
has nearly 20 layers of green and black. It is just a bit over a half inch. What do you think.
Dick
Looks CA to me from the picture, but there has been a lot of chatter about Ravenswoods lately that were once thought to be CA, but a Turkey is a Turkey and a CA most of the time I would think.
Ron
I have this marble listed in my directory as a Christensen, a flame on clear glass. I suspect this is not the case. Any ideas on this marble. It is definetly not a contemporary, it is about one inch in size. Transparent blue glass, flame is white opaque.
That's a very nice flame. From the picture it has a contemporary look to it, but I know you said it is not. I'd guess if it is older that it is by one of the lesser makers we see whose marbles have flames. Ravenswood? I would doubt it because too much clear glass base. Cairo or Heaton? Maybe, but not exactly their MO if you know what I mean. It looks like the marbles kind of that you find in those USA boxes when they have the legit marbles in them. So, who made those? Ravenswood? Champion? Heaton? Cairo?
I'm not much help but it's a nice flame regardless.
