Woodsmen Attempting To Sign Chris Driscoll

by (Login fwallace)

It's expected the Owen Sound van Dolder Home Team Woodsmen will head into a crucial Senior Lacrosse game tonight at Fergus with a bolstered lineup.

While the paperwork is still being finalized this morning, it appears Owen Sound will add sniper Chris Driscoll to their lineup.

Woodsmen General Mark Berner confirms a deal has been arranged with the Barrie Lakeshores Major Lacrosse club to acquire the rights to Driscoll for the remainder of the season.

According to Berner, Driscoll has been interested in playing for Owen Sound all season but needed permission from Barrie to join the Senior League & the Woodsmen.

Berner relates the pending arrival of Driscoll is huge for the Woodsmen based on Driscoll's history as an elite player in both provincial lacrosse and at the National Lacrosse League level.

Heading to tonight's game at Fergus, Owen Sound trails the Wellington Aces by 3 points for first place in the West Division standings.

In another note, the Woodsmen anticipate that netminder Steve Dietrich ( Dee-trick ) will dress for tonight's game against Wellington, but they are not willing to say whether he will start or not.

Game time for the Aces & Woodsmen is 8:30 tonight at Fergus.

Tomorrow, Owen Sound will host the Norwood Nitro at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore.
