Years ago (1984, if memory serves me correctly) we ran a .400 pro tree race at Orlando, Florida for a combination of Super Comp (8.90), Super Gas (9.90), and Super Street (10.90) cars (Super Street raced on a .400 tree in those days). We ran a divider on the tree so a driver could only see their side (except for red-lights). I was involved in promoting that event. Some people thought the Super Comp cars would have a big advantage. Had a decent turnout, and in the final it was a Super Street car against a Super Comp car for the win. Rich Cady's Super Comp dragster beat Dick Coble's Super Street Camaro for the victory. Cady and Coble were both very competitive racers around here at the time. Most of the racers seemed to enjoy the format, by running three classes together we could post a bigger purse. Another track operator took over shortly after that and the program was never run again in Orlando that I know of. - Aaron
